The Columbus Dispatch ran a story on Sunday about one of the local festivals, the “Independents’ Day” festival. One of the activities caught my eye.
From what I can tell from the story, the “Independents” are independent thinkers, and the festival has nothing to do with the Fourth of July. Here’s a bit about it from the story, Independents’ Day fills Gay St. with Pabst, bands, food:
“I think anyone can find something entertaining about the festival,” said Patrick Koch, 30, of Clintonville. The daylong celebration just north of the Statehouse was a melting pot of music, food and art on Gay Street and in the adjoining alleyways yesterday, along with a steady stream of visitors.
What caught my eye was this photo (caption from the Dispatch):
As I looked at that picture, I thought . . .
That looks like fun.
I wish I were a whole lot younger.
But it is also nice to see that barefoot paranoia (or pelmatophobia) hasn’t spread everywhere.
At first, it looked like they had on VFFs To me. But its just paint, thank God.
