Today’s comic comes from November 20, 1966. It is from Muggs and Skeeter, drawn by Wally Bishop.
It’s an interesting point. Somehow it is humans that are supposed to get cold feet in the winter, but barefooters know that we can handle much colder temperatures than most folks expect. (That said, a lot of snow just doesn’t do it for me.)
I guess they didn’t have muttluks back then, or the poor dog would have gotten stuck with those, too.
It seems kinda foolish to think that the effect of warm clothing is nullified by not wearing shoes. The dog is bare-tailed, too.
People who easily get cold feet may argue that they lose heat more quickly because feet touch the ground, and toes get cold being the spot farthest away from the heart. But then again our circulation works well in keeping our feet warm anyway, especially while not losing much warmth elsewhere along the body.
And the main reason they have cold feet in the first place is because of self imposed clamping of their blood flow!
I’m afraid ‘shoes for dogs’ is very much a thing. Including matching ‘nikes’ and ‘reboks’ for your dog. Humans are pretty freaking crazy.
