Folks may recall that I did a bunch of training hikes over the winter. These were training hikes by John O’Meara, the Executive Director of the Columbus Metro Parks.
He was training to climb Mt. Everest.
[A repost from last summer.]
What he did, though, was also invite folks to accompany him as he did 15-mile hikes at Clear Creek Metro Park.
At the December, 2011 hike there was a TV crew (from WBNS-10TV) who did some filming for a special to appear this past May. That special appeared on May 26, while I was at Mesa Verde, but I’ve finally gotten it up on youtube.
I thought it was a very nice segment, weaving together some of the extremes that folks use the Metro Parks for: John O’Meara training for Mt. Everest and me doing the hike barefoot.
There are also some decent shots of me just hiking along, climbing a hill. (Though they show that same shot 3 times.)
I think I managed not to sound too stupid . . .
