Of course the Northwoods also has wildlife.
Last year there was a bald eagles nest with two fledglings on the edge of Otter Cove. This year there has just been a lone eagle that we occasionally see in that same tree.
Here is my attempt to get a shot of him.
Obviously, it’s camera shy.
That is also a long shot, being about 500 feet from the pier.
But just about the time I got into the kayak to try to get a closer picture, it took off and started soaring.
The pictures are not all that great. I don’t know if that is motion blur, or if the autofocus on my camera was having trouble.
And one more shot as it comes back around.
One nice thing about the Northwoods is that an eagle is always par for the course.
