Yesterday’s Dispatch had yet another photo of a barefoot kid.
Again, these are just what I call “photographs around town”, which are a very nice feature of the newspaper.
The blurb is Simply Soaked to the Skin.

Simply soaked to the skin | Olivia McCoy, 8, of Columbus, plays in the waterfall at Creekside Plaza in Gahanna. Olivia was on a first-time play date this week with Jesse Poremba, the sister of her mother’s boyfriend. “I think we will come back a lot more,” Poremba said, but next time they might bring along a swimsuit for Olivia.

This is the sort of situation in which you expect the little girl to be barefoot. But these days, who knows? There so often seems to be such paranoia on bare feet that I’m afraid that it really is worthy of remark that she’s not in there wearing aquasox or flip-flops.
