I happened across the following advertisement for Vibram Five-Fingers:
I don’t get it. Except for just a few situations, if you are going to go part of the way towards barefoot, why not just go all the way to barefoot?
Obviously, for people who wear Vibrams and like to do so, that’s their choice, and I respect that. However, I wonder if they are still falling prey to the unfounded fears and prevailing myths about going barefoot.
Being barefoot just provides so much more tactile and proprioceptive feedback.
Anyways, I’ve fixed the ad:

Great pick Bob! I like your advertizement.
Some years ago we would say in the DSS that barefooting would never go mainstream because there was nothing to sell. You cannot sell what everyone already has for free.
It turns out, you CAN sell bare feet (or an imitation thereof)
I don’t know if we should feel joy or indignation about it.
Exactly!!
